How kind and compassionate it is of Jennifer and Alfred Neill to honour their darling daughter Laura Mackenzie Neill
with Laura Mackenzie's Angels of Hope Alliance in their support of the grief experienced by other parents whose babies
have died.
Jennifer and Alfred presented me with two bear angels recently.
They were given in honour of my two babies, Jason and Mary who, many years ago, were born prematurely and died shortly
after birth. At the time they were born, grief at infant death was not recognized.
We were expected not to talk about 'it', to forget 'it' and just get on with our lives.
So we grieved alone and in silence. We did not see or name our babies, there were no memorials for them,
and no support groups for us. Decades after our babies died, these bears were the first gifts given to honour their
short but meaningful lives. Thank you, Laura Mackenzie Neill, for the difference your life has made in ours.

- Dear Alfred and Jennifer,
Thank you for giving us one of Laura's angels of hope last night. Her little angel is now sitting right next to our
son's white polar bear and keeping each other company. It's amazing how babies can touch so many lives in so many ways.
Take care,

- Jennifer,
a mom is leaving our unit right now after the death of one of her precious tiny twins. Her 5 year old daughter is
holding her Angel bear and calling it by her brother's name. They are so thankful that your group has
provided this precious gift to honour their son. They speak almost no English but said to tell you THANK YOU so much.
